1. Tell us what you love about pinup?
The classic beauty of pinup is undeniable. Whether you’re headed to the grocery store, or dressed to the nines, pinup fashion is guaranteed to turn heads. I love dressing up. I love feeling put together. I love the feeling of perfect cat eye liner and red lips. It never goes out of style.
2. Is there a best/worst experience you’d like to share?
Being a burlesque performer in conservative Houston, TX has got to be the most rewarding job I’ve ever had. Houston is one of the most art starved cities, and to be doing weekly burlesque shows that are extremely well received makes my heart swell. Houston loves burlesque. They have a need for something classic, old school, and tasteful.
When people come to our shows they are dressed “pinup perfect”. Men have their suits on, and they are ready for a show! Every weekend is a new and amazing experience!
3. What exciting projects do you have coming up?
Besides my weekly burlesque shows at Prohibition Supperclub & Bat, I’m currently hosting “Bitches Who Brunch” (a burlesque brunch experience on Sundays) and Long Island Boys (a once a month boylesque show). Both shows are comedic, interactive, and an immense amount of dirty fun! If you’re in Houston, come see us for a naughty good time!
4. Do you have a tip that you feel is important for models/photographers?
Never do anything that does feel like “you”. Be true to Do you have a tip that you feel is important for models/photographers? your character, themes, style, and what made you interested in pinup in the first place. There’s only one you. So be the best “you” you can be and rock it out at your shoot! That also means respecting each other’s time and space. Be on time. Be prepared (costumes, makeup, location, etc.)
Communicate ideas prior to the shoot. Communicate limits. Having a safe, fun space to do a shoot means amazing results! Be creative. Be you. Be pinup perfect!
